Eileen A. Souza
Eileen A. Souza is a professional genealogist and owner of Old Bones Genealogy, LLC. She has over seventeen years’ experience researching family histories and forty years’ experience in the Information Technology field. As Vice-President and Program Director for the Carroll County Genealogical Society, she was responsible for both the speaker programs and the support of the President. She volunteers to handle research requests that are submitted to the society and she is a volunteer indexer for FamilySearch.org. Eileen is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, the Maryland Genealogical Society and several local societies.
Eileen completed the ProGen Study Group (an eighteen month study of the book Professional Genealogist edited by Elizabeth Shown Mills) in April 2011. She has received Basic and Intermediate certificates in Genealogical Studies and American Records from the National Institute of Genealogical Studies, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada. She is currently working on completing her remaining courses with a goal of obtaining the full certificate in Genealogical Studies with a specialty in American Records by the end of this year.
Eileen has lectured locally on “Getting Started With Your Genealogy’ and “Dig Up your Ancestors Online.” Recently, she was interviewed by a local newspaper on her lectures, her company and genealogy. For the complete article, see “Library offers lecture in genealogy.”
