Old Bones Genealogy offers traditional research, project management, organization, transcription, and technology services, using a variety of online and local resources, including vital records, US census records, ship manifests, naturalization, military, church, and numerous other records.

Eileen A. Souza, PLCGS

Eileen A. Souza is a professional genealogist and owner of Old Bones Genealogy, LLC. She has over twenty years’ experience researching family histories and forty years’ experience in the Information Technology field. As Vice-President and Program Director for the Carroll County Genealogical Society, she was responsible for both the speaker programs and the support of the President. She volunteers to handle research requests that are submitted to the society and she is a volunteer indexer for FamilySearch.org. Eileen is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society, the Maryland Genealogical Society and several local societies.

Eileen is a graduate of the National Institute of Genealogical Studies, earning a Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogical Studies; a graduate of the National Institute of Genealogical Research; and a graduate of the 18-month ProGen Study Group (for the book Professional Genealogy edited by Elizabeth Shown Mills).

Eileen is the author of Research in Carroll County, published in the August 2012 issue of the Maryland Genealogical Society Journal. She has lectured locally on “Getting Started With Your Genealogy”, “Dig Up your Ancestors Online”, Finding Beaver Dam Levell” and “The ABCs of DNA for Genealogy.” She was interviewed by a local newspaper on her lectures, her company and genealogy.  For the complete article, see “Library offers lecture in genealogy.”
